Episode 4 – The Second Phase Podcast: Accepting Vulnerability for Success

Accepting Vulnerability for Success

The second phase podcast graphic is a pink square with a photo of Robyn Graham in the middle. Podcast host Robyn Graham is wearing a black sleeveless shirt that says "woman up" on it and a pair of distressed jeans. She is sitting on the floor on a white rug holding a white coffee mug with her computer to the side of her.

Vulnerability is the quality or state of being exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally.

Sounds pretty frightening, doesn’t it?

Yet, we have to allow ourselves to be vulnerable if we want to create a life we desire.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to act anyway.

We all live with fear. It isn’t an emotion that we can suppress completely, but what we can do is talk to ourselves and change our mindset surrounding it.

Join me as I share my journey with embracing vulnerability, overcoming fear through courage and leaning on my tribe, and how I am now able to do things I couldn’t do in the past.

It Takes a Tribe

I didn’t do it alone. I was blessed to have a support system, my husband and my tribe, Mary Fran Bontempo, Kristin Smedley and Kathy Marcino, my co-hosts at 4 Chicks Chatting.

Brene Brown and her book, The Gift of Imperfection was a big influence for me.

Accepting Vulnerability

Accepting vulnerability wasn’t easy. With the support of friends and family and by changing my mindset around vulnerability, I was able to move from being consumed by fear to having courage.
